Book Value / Depreciation
The accounting value a system carries on your books as it ages, versus what it would actually fetch on the secondary market.
Book value (straight-line or accelerated depreciation on your balance sheet) and real secondary-market value diverge quickly for Power hardware once a generation is withdrawn from marketing. Value Retention on this site models the market-price side of that gap, not accounting depreciation schedules.
