Cost per CPW
Acquisition or ownership cost divided by CPW capacity delivered -- the core cost-efficiency measure used across this site's Market Price analysis.
Cost per CPW isolates raw price/performance from support risk and software economics. A generation can score well on cost per CPW while scoring poorly on the overall Power Value Index if its remaining useful life is short -- Power8 is the clearest example.
