Breakeven Point (Upgrade Economics)

The point at which the ongoing cost of keeping an older Power generation in service (maintenance, risk, software) exceeds the cost of replacing it.

Breakeven analysis is the core question behind Upgrade Economics: at what maintenance-cost or performance-shortfall threshold does keep-vs-replace tip toward replacement. It depends on remaining useful life, current maintenance escalation, and the acquisition cost of the replacement generation.
